CTTT which is the authorial body that resolves disputes between two parties on property matters and such many related issues follows three main steps in resolving the disputes. These steps are mediation, adjudication and CTTT hearing. Only if your dispute do not get resolved by them that you need to go for further steps. During the first step such as mediation, you start by lodging mediation application with the office of Fair Trading and pay fee which is usually $63. As the next step the mediation date and time will be fixed by the Office of Fair Trading and the mediation session follows. Immediately after the mediation, the agreement is documented. Sometimes it so happens that a party does not agree for mediation and in that case it should be reported within a week. The next step in resolving CTTT disputes which is adjudication also begins by lodging an application for adjudication and including supporting reasons with the Office of Fair Trading and pay fee of $65. As the next step CTTT issues notice inviting written submission from interested people. On the basis of the submission, the CTTT adjudicator makes desk decision. Within one to two weeks the decisions and reasons are issued and thus the order takes effect.
The next step of CTTT in resolving disputes is CTTT hearing which also begins by lodging application to the CTTT and paying fee which is $65. Within four weeks the CTTT issues notice of hearing. There will be one or more days hearing as per the requirement and the CTTT makes desk decision on basis of submissions and then the order takes effect.
